1. What will you buy from me?

Any 9 – 24 carat jewellery

Rings, neckpieces, bracelets, brooches, pins, charms, earrings, cufflinks – matching or broken (which will be tested individually on our XRF machine which identifies the purity of each piece)

Scrap GOLD

  • Nuggets

ALL stones will either be removed or allowances made for weight.

2. What is an XRF machine?

An x-ray machine that was invented for the Mars Expedition to evaluate the elements found in rocks on the Mars surface. This machine is utilised to indicate the metal elements in each piece of jewellery x-rayed.

3. What will you pay me?

All prices are based on the daily rate and purity and weight of each item once tested and stones removed (if any). As an indication, the purer the gold the more you get paid per gram!

  • 24ct is pure Gold at 99.99% 22ct gold equals 91.6% purity (reflecting a combination of other metals)
  • 18ct gold equals 75% purity (reflecting a combination of other metals)
  • 14ct gold equals 58.5% purity (reflecting a combination of other metals)
  • 9ct gold equals 37.5% purity (reflecting a combination of other metals)

4. How many grams in an ounce of gold?

All gold is measured in toy ounces of which there are 31.1035 this is NOT to be confused with the Standard ounce which has 28 grams.

5. Do you pay for stones?

NO, stones are removed or allowances made for weight.

6. Do I need to clean the jewellery before I send it to you?

There is no need to clean any jewellery you are considering cashing in.

7. What identification will you need to see?

Photocopy of your driver’s licence or passport OR 2 forms of non photographic identification (such as birth certificate, health care card etc)

8. How do you make payments?

  • CHEQUE is pure Gold at 99.99%
  • CASH (this option requires you to visit our office at Level 10, 227 Collins Street, Melbourne)
  • DIRECT DEPOSIT via EFT into a nominated account

9. How do I send my jewellery to you?

By registering for an ABC GOLDPack or emailing and providing us with your name, address and contact details.

10. Will it cost me anything to send my jewellery to you?

Nothing at all, as we will send you the ABD GOLDPack with return pre-paid satchel to make it easy for you.

11. What is in the ABC GOLDPack?

  • Registered Parcel Post pre-addressed satchel
  • Return Post Pack padded bag
  • Return Instructions / checklist
  • Client Receipt information

12. What happens once you get my jewellery?

  • We test each piece
  • Once completed, weighed and priced
  • We contact you via email and advise our price
  • If you accept and email back "YES" we will pay you in the   method you have instructed us on the day
  • If you decline, we will return your goods on the same day, at no   obligation to sell to us

13. What if I don’t want to sell you my jewellery?

We will return it you at no obligation to sell to us.

14. What if my jewellery got lost in the mail?

Our mail pack has a tracking number so you can track your pack any time and they are insured for the value of up to $100.00 by Australian post.

15. What if I want to insure my items for more than $100.00?

You can do this at any Australian post office for a small fee before sending your items.

16. Can I send my items myself or not?

Yes if you prefer to do that, but then you will pay for the postage and the insurance yourself.

17. Can I get a quote from you for my items before I send them?

YES BUT we can only provide a guess without seeing the items and checking the quality and weight The price of gold changes daily globally and we can only give an indication.

18. Can I send you my GOLD from anywhere around Australia?

Yes you can but requesting an FREE ABC GOLDPack.
